Trump has channeled the anxiety of these groups, whose status has been shaken by job losses, deepening polarization, and the surge in immigration due to globalization, and has incited their anger toward the established elite and "outsiders" (people of color, undocumented immigrants, Muslims, etc.).”

And this, with wider applicability: “Declining industries are destined to be passed on to developing countries over time. Even in our case, reviving a declining industry is difficult.
