📊 So, which one are you getting tomorrow?

Somebody said in a video that iPhone Air is for the kind of people who use their phone without a case (that’s me!), and that tipped the scales for me, so I’m pretty sure that will be my choice. Gold, with bumper, with cross body strap, with MagSafe battery pack — for trips, not day to day use

@stroughtonsmith I’m definitely ordering a 17 Pro Max, but I’m also tempted to buy an Air as a test device, but haven’t decided if I want to spend the money yet.
@stroughtonsmith Honestly I‘m most worried about that mono speaker, even for casual use. It‘s a choice between the Air and skipping this year. Have been a Pro user up until now.
@stroughtonsmith 4th option of using my 15 Pro Max still
@stroughtonsmith I got my 17 Pro order cued up and ready to go, but I was very tempted by the Air. Just couldn't downgrade from the Pro cameras
@stroughtonsmith interesting how many are picking Pro models. The 17 non-pro is more compelling than any "regular" iPhone in a while; but I understand your followers are more likely to want the biggest phone in terms of performance, battery, and camera specs. I'm expecting to stick with my 15 Pro Max for another few years.
@stroughtonsmith I had pre ordered the Air but the mono speaker and lack of zoom (seriously, 2x only???) finally made me switch to pro max (which is what I’ve bought every year since its’ release). And yes, I’ve never used a case on any of my iPhones.

@stroughtonsmith I was testing on a 6S and a 14 Pro a few days ago. Having the power of the Pro in a phone that weighs the same as the 6S sold me. And I can’t go back to that old pro weight as they move back to aluminum there.

Air’s a winner!

@stroughtonsmith not enough cameras or usb3 for me

@stroughtonsmith
Going with Air (upgrading from 14 Pro).
ProMotion was the biggest thing pushing me to Pros, but with all iPhones having it this year, Air is the most compelling.

A bumper case and a battery pack also.

@stroughtonsmith The Air has won me over, but I'm torn on the color.

Ask me when they release a Mini

@KanaMauna @stroughtonsmith Sign. Switched from the 12 Mini to the 14 Pro a few years ago and hate the size. This is the phone, if I need a monitor I take the iPad. Sadly the 12 (Mini) Battery was crap, otherwise no reason to switch phones after two years.

Besides the way too large screen, the 14 Pro works still well and it has the one useful hardware upgrade in the past 10-ish years (which I hope to never need). Meaning satellite emergency services - I like to hike in the Alps. Otherwise they just bump specs that new software smokes away with unnecessary effects etc.

@irieger @stroughtonsmith

I’ve had many large phones for work but my personal phone is a 12 mini. Its battery is approaching its end and I think I’ll have it replaced. Apple needs to realize that not everybody keeps their phone in cargo pants pockets or bags.

@KanaMauna @stroughtonsmith 100% sign. I only replaced the 12 Mini as the battery runtime in the beginning was not good but after two years not even lasting a day without two times charging nearly fully wasn‘t doing it for me.

My 14 Pro I got fits my pants, but I‘d prefer to have a phone that can be used single handed. Guess most people prefer to use a phone as an iPad… (I started to call the non-mini phones iPad Mini based on the diagonal a few years ago)

@stroughtonsmith @irieger

Manufacturers need to be mindful of their aging consumers. I’m in my late 50s but arthritis is kicking in. A heavy two-handed tablet is not doable.

@stroughtonsmith gotta try that Air! Have been complaining about hey phones for years so I’m really hoping it’s got decent battery life. If not then the regular 17 w Pro Motion will be my first non pro phone
@stroughtonsmith None. Have a iPhone 16 pro and probably will never get another iPhone again.

@stroughtonsmith

Air is a slightly worse phone than 17 that costs more

@stroughtonsmith I’ll get a regular 17, to replace my old 12. It will be quite a jump!
@stroughtonsmith Sticking with my 15 Pro for another year. Not seeing meaningful upgrades yet, and 17 Pro goes back to 13 Pro’s weight level, which I didn’t enjoy.
@stroughtonsmith I also use my phone without a case, but I would regret not having the best possible camera. Pro Orange it is.
@stroughtonsmith Just consider the following shortcomings (source: 9to5Mac).

@stroughtonsmith Not sure what makes the Air they one to use without a case. They’re all more than thin enough without a case. If you want a thick case I’d understand arguing for the Air.

The regular one if any of them. As much as I like the orange Pro it’s just far too expensive for a phone. Regular sadly don’t have any good colours, what happens with product red?

@stroughtonsmith Missing the option for skipping this year
