New #MacBookPro day, and spent over 6 hours trying to get #MigrationAssistant to transfer my outgoing MacBook Pro to it. It always just stopped around 25% and gave no indication what was wrong. First via wifi, then several attempts using two different thunderbolt cables before I finally said screw it. Not good, #Apple

I have to say tho, setting up a clean, lean, and mean MacBook vs. bringing over a filesystem that I've been dragging through machines for at least 15 years, not a bad idea.

Introducing Aurora Toolkit 1.0 - Dan Murrell Jr.

When creating something new throughout human history, there is always that moment where the idea touches the medium, and an abstract thought starts to become a …

"Countries that slide from democracy toward autocracy tend to follow similar patterns. To measure what is happening in the United States, the Times editorial board has compiled a list of 12 markers of democratic erosion, with help from scholars who have studied this phenomenon. The sobering reality is that the United States has regressed, to different degrees, on all 12.”

WTF is #Google waiting on for giving me that #Her-style instant cleanup of my #GMail of all the bullshit that has accumulated over the last 20 years of whatever it’s been?
It's been a while since I've seen it mentioned, so if you did happen to pick up a Kindle in the sales this week (👀), check out the Standard Ebooks project for hundreds of public domain works with good metadata, proofreading, and nice cover art: https://standardebooks.org
I think I am building a business - Dan Murrell Jr.

I think I am building a business. That is an unexpected thing for me to say, because while I’ve always been in the process of building something ever …

FYI @atpfm @marcoarment @siracusa @caseyliss my Watch Ultra 2 and all my cards transferred over to the 17 Pro pretty seamlessly this year. Maybe I had to put in a code for one of my cards but I don’t remember it. (I have to trudge upstairs and get my wallet I no longer carry out of my desk to pull out the real card, so it’s memorably annoying.)

Not all cards were ready immediately and I got the notification a day or two later though.

The most annoying part of new #iPhone day is going through all the important apps to see which ones remember how to log in, which ones make it easy to re-log in, and which ones are such a pain in the ass the best thing you can do is delete and reinstall to log in.

Kudos to #Google Authenticator for bringing all my work accounts over automatically; boo to #Okta for doing the opposite of that.

When UPS said they’d deliver my new #iPhone17Pro “by end of day 7:00 pm” they really meant that shit. I’ve been watching the truck circling my neighborhood since 10:45am this morning. Damn
@atpfm @siracusa @ @caseyliss of course it was Auburn’s colors. I clocked that immediately. It’s why my app’s baseColor is Mississippi State maroon. That’s how the #SEC rolls 🙂
