BrendanExactly. Ever since I first heard this term it seems to apply to a lot more than just digital systems. It seems to be the end result of capitalism once true competition no longer exists. Deregulation, endless mergers and acquisitions aren't an accident.

@sharif @flamepanther @pluralistic Maybe not in online versions that auto-check words. But while Hasbro has added a *recommendation* to use the one you've linked to, the rules don't mandate the use of any specific dictionary. The main Merriam-Webster dictionary would still be valid. 👍

At the beginning you not only quoted Ed Zitron, you actually had him say: "I'll never forgive them for what they've done to the computer." I thought that was super cool.
It made me think the audio book would be even better with more people voicing their own quotes, like having @tveastman actually say "I'm old enough to remember when the Internet wasn't a group of five websites, each consisting of screenshots of text from the other four."
I don't know if he'd be interested, and I don't know if it's possible at this stage, but IMO it would really enhance the audio book experience to do that.
Just an idea.
