@nic Ich nutze OpenOffice als Teil der Infomaniak K-Suite, aber würde es aus vielerlei Gründen (bessere Updates, Stiftung in Berlin, aktivere Community usw) viel lieber sehen, dort Libre mit einem modernen Antlitz geboten zu bekommen. Die letzten Eindrücke von Libre à la 1997 fand ich leider (!!!) so abschreckend wie die Nutzeroberfläche von Posteo. Ich bin sehr optisch und kann mit aus der Zeit gefallenem Design einfach schlecht arbeiten.

@christianschwaegerl Danke für die Info. Und OpenOffice hat 'ne bessere Oberfläche, oder welche findest du gut? Würde es dann für mich auch mal direkt vergleichen.
Ich selbst arbeite viel mit anderen, finde manches suboptimal gelöst in der Bedienung, geht mir aber bei anderen Office-Anwendung genauso (inkl. MS)
Geht es um Bedienbarkeit oder reine Ästhetik?
Hat evtl. mit Mode zu tun, was man von anderen Programmen optisch anders kennt...

@christianschwaegerl ... Neue Skins aus rein modischen Gründen sind mir meist eher lästig. Echte UX-Verbesserungen haben die oft nicht, manchmal wird es auch schlechter bedienbar, weil moderner nicht immer was mit besser zu tun hat.

@nic Geht mir gar nicht um modisch, sondern nüchtern-sachlich versus 1997er-style verspielt. Hab bei Libre auch alle verfügbaren Alternativen durchgespielt, war alles extrem 90er-retro.
Allerdings ist der Hinweis schon wichtig, dass OpenOffice kaum geupdated wird und eher ein legacy-Projekt zu sein scheint, während Libre lebt. Da sollte es aber doch möglich sein, eine elegante Oberfläche zu bieten....

@nic @libreoffice @libodesign I mean Libre doesn‘t have to look like Microsoft Office but it shouldn‘t look like a 1990s nostalgia edition of Microsoft Office either. I made LibreOffice look more like Microsoft Office, and you should too

Switching to LibreOffice may be jarring at first, but with a couple of tweaks, you can make it look like Microsoft Office.

Let's all be honest with ourselves for a moment. The thing that 99% of computer users want is something that *looks* like Windows 7 or XP (or Mac equivalent) and that *never changes*. Nobody cares or wants to know what happens under the hood, they just want to Do Computer and they want to do it in a way that is comfortable and *doesn't fucking change all the time*
