I’m in a phenomenal talk on gender inequality in cybersecurity this morrning and this is such a great cheat sheet for intersectional fair employment.
@hacks4pancakes Any chance that talk will be shared for those of us who didn't attend? Would love to share this with some folk at my employer.
@lachlan I believe they are recorded and live streamed for AWSN members

@hacks4pancakes Alas - that's not me...

But we've got a Women in Leadership special group through my employer who'd potentially be really interested to know this exists. Particularly given the women I know who work inside security with us.

Those are all great.
As a dad whose boss felt able to openly & explicitly demote me for asking for parental leave in the mid '00s, I feel that one.
@jaystephens @hacks4pancakes
My company offers some pretty generous parental leave. I was out for more than 3 months I think. That whole time, I kept thinking, "Why the fuck would anyone want me working right now? I'm so tired all the time."
@jargoggles @hacks4pancakes
It's all performative presenteeism 😓

The mental technique that astonished me with its effectiveness is "Flip the Script" and observing my own personal reaction.

Really opened my eyes to my own unconscious biases.

@hacks4pancakes may you never return to america, in the most positive way possible xD.

@hacks4pancakes Wait, you should be the one to ask for a pay raise or promotion?

Nobody told us. How many years did it take you to figure it out?

@hacks4pancakes

opt-in by defaut

That's not how those words work. The default is what happens if you don't opt. In this case, the description you're looking for is, "opt-out."
