TIL: PBS has a streaming service called Passport that you get access to for as little as $5 donated to your local station per month. It's good! Lots of great documentaries, some foreign language shows, usual PBS stuff.
@stoneymonster Yes, PBS' Passport is a good value for $5/month. (We've been signed up for multiple years already.)
@stoneymonster the app/ui is pretty good too, fairly user-friendly
@stoneymonster I've seen that in the PBS app.
@stoneymonster does it work in Canada?

@stoneymonster

I was giving monthly to the local public radio for years and then they merged with public television and so now I have access to Passport. It was a welcome surprise.

@stoneymonster (if you can you should donate more, obviously, especially with funding cuts. but if you can't, that's why PBS is so cheap/free.)

@stoneymonster If you like things like SpaceTime or Be Smart, and kinda hate watching them on YouTube, it's a good alternative.

Also: checkout Otherwords and Eons!

PBS: Public Broadcasting Service

Watch full episodes of your favorite PBS dramas, find in-depth news analysis and explore documentaries on history, science, art and more!

@stoneymonster the Woodrights shop is great!

Something I learned from one episode - porches on houses were brought over from Africa

Their news hour is also great

@stoneymonster We make free lesson plans and discussion guides for a bunch of films that stream on PBS, so we're excited to learn about PBS Passport, too!
@stoneymonster
Just found this out myself. I mean, its no tote bag, but its still hella nice.

@stoneymonster

Yes! I also stream from my library, Kanopy and Hoopla.
