I walk around and plug things in.
Thinking of building a wireless bridge to replace one that has to be reset at least once per day. I could use a #RaspberryPi Zero W with USB wired Ethernet or a B+ with USB WiFi.

Another reason to hate #Apple We're seeing more 2018+ MacBook Pro/Air donations — but Apple's T2 chip means even after iCloud sign-out and reset, the firmware stays locked to the original account.

Without donor contact, these machines are useless. :(

I've upcycled ~1,000 older Macs, but T2 era machines will end that. It's controlling, creates e-waste, and will only get worse. #righttorepair matters — Apple couldn't care less.

Next #BikeNite is this Friday at 4pm Pacific standard time (UTC-8)!

Reply with any questions you'd like me to add to the discussion on Friday. Please add the BikeNitePQ hashtag so it's easier to find a Proposed Question. There is room for more!

(BikeNite is a Q&A type discussion on the Fediverse.) #BikeTooter cc @bikenite

I would like it to stop raining for a while. I understand the ground needs it but my roof leaks from recent storm damage and my insurance co. is annoying. I can't sleep and will have to wait for the bus without an umbrella. #rain

"The death of a program happens when the programmer team possessing its theory is dissolved. A dead program may continue to be used for execution in a computer and to produce useful results. The actual state of death becomes visible when demands for modifications of the program cannot be intelligently answered."
-Naur, 1985

I feel like this essay should be taught alongside Twitter as a case study.

What's next? From May, I'm looking for roles at the intersection of European digital policy, ethical open platforms, and developer/community engagement. I’m optimistic about these spaces, and keen to help shape what comes next. I care about a future that values human connection and shared power, not extractive platforms.

If you’re working in these areas - or know someone who is - I’d welcome a conversation. andypiper-at-omg.lol (yes, really) or check my website #GetFediHired /end (4/4)

It's Tuesday and I'm already thinking about #BikeNite.
The US President is praising Allah and the President of Iran is defending the Pope. Welcome to 2026.
