I'm not the type of gamer who needs the fastest responding kernel for multiplayer games to keep up with twitchy mouse movements. I mostly play single player games like The Last of Us or Cyberpunk 2077 or more social-type of multiplayer games like Baldur's Gate 3, Civilization VII, or Dune: Awakening.
I've tried several "gaming" distros but, for me, they don't really make any gaming experience better, they just make it easier to install or setup gaming on Linux. I now just use Debian because that is what I like and I have it configured the way I like it. I might have to tinker a little more than someone using Bazzite, but I like that. Gaming is great on Linux, whatever you use.
