I don't know about other people but my multiple monitor use case is that the cat cannot sit in front of all of them at once
@etchedpixels That probably would also work for a small child on the lap wanting to watch videos ~ currently I manage with giving up 1/4 ~ 1/3 of my screen space 🤣
@etchedpixels won't work in multi cat environments
@Znexhf_Svax Our cat is not multi-cat compatible, or dog compatible. Garden birds fine, mice fine, other cats or dogs it's all a bit texas chainsaw massacre
@etchedpixels Cats, as X11 displays, stretch.
@dredmorbius You just need big enough screens, or a small cat or both
@etchedpixels doesn't that just force them to sit on keyboard instead?
@Elwell @etchedpixels Most computers work ok with more than one keyboard attached.

@etchedpixels

Same problem, but with keyboards....

@etchedpixels Smart thinking there. What about the keyboard? Does the cat sit on it?
@etchedpixels The cat doesn’t need to sit in front of them all. Just the one you want to look at. They will find a way.
@etchedpixels That just shows you don't have enough cats.
@etchedpixels Did I just hear your cat say “Challenge accepted!”?
@etchedpixels True though unfortunately, mine sometimes chooses to sit on my laptop's keyboard, rendering the entire machine unusable until she decides to move, despite having multiple monitors 😅
@etchedpixels You clearly need to get more cats :-).
@pavel Anything else fluffy with four legs is considered a legitimate target by our current one. She's a middle aged female cat with a combo of the usual territorial instincts and a napoleon complex.
@etchedpixels This is very helpful scoping guidance. Optimal number of monitors is number of cats plus one
@etchedpixels my split keyboard use case is the cat can sit in the middle
@etchedpixels but before you observe the cat it might be doing just that...
@etchedpixels Do you need n+1 monitors, where n is the number of cats?
@etchedpixels On behalf of my client, Cat, challenge accepted.
@etchedpixels Then you don't have enough cats.
@etchedpixels My monitors are raised up, so my cat sits on part of the keyboard instead.
@etchedpixels if c is the number of cats, this implies c +1 monitors 🤔
@etchedpixels I work on one while the cat watches YouTube bird videos on the other.
@etchedpixels so you need as many monitors as cat toilets (number of cats plus 1)?
@nixCraft use a window manager like i3 or Dwm so you have all your windows in one monitor!
@etchedpixels
Clearly you don't have enough cats then.
