@hyperawarebear Hi for journaling, stationery, zines, and crafts!
@hyperawarebear Hello! Nice to meet you! I am basically into everything you just mentioned!
@lapis That's awesome! I see you're into crochet. I just picked it back up as one of my many rotating special interests and I'm doing my first amigurumi piece. It kind of hurts my fingers trying to make everything tight. But I have to so the stuffing doesn't poke out, right? Or I was thinking I might sew some kind of inner pocket or use nylons or something to hold the stuffing possibly... anyway, hello!! πŸ‘‹

@hyperawarebear have you ever stuffed anything before? Because my first amigurumi piece was a disaster because I didn't know how to stuff properly

I can offer advice if you like

@lapis never! I would love advice. I just figured smush it in would suffice?

@hyperawarebear At the very least that was what I did with my first piece and it did not work for me.

What I do now is take a handful of stuffing, pull it apart / fluff it a bunch, THEN stuff it in. It works so much better. Less lumpy, less limp

@lapis Ooooh! Definitely would not have thought to do that. What kind of stuffing do you prefer? I went for the basic poly-fill simply because it was easily available. But I've heard there's better/different stuff out there.
@hyperawarebear I'm certain other stuff is better but a bag of polyfill will last you forever--Despite all my amigurumi I've barely made a dent in my package of it
@hyperawarebear hi~ have a great day
@hyperawarebear welcome! πŸ–‹οΈπŸŽ¨πŸŒ±
@Kiki Thank you! Hello! πŸ‘‹
@hyperawarebear Hi! I like writing and drawing with real ink. My fountain pens are entry level and I love them. Japanese-style planners and paper, Pentel Kerry mechanical pencil = my current every day carry.
@ellane I have many entry level fountain pens too. I only have two that are "higher end" (the Pilot Vanishing Point and the Esterbrook collab with thecoffeemonsterzco). But I love my Pilot Kakuno! I never fell in love with my Lamy Safari though... idk why. I have a fun flexible Noodlers Ahab. And of course the TWSBI Eco. What ink brands do you like?
@hyperawarebear Me too re the Lamy Safari. It’s my least favourite. Loving the Hong Dian extra fine though. I love muted ink colours, especially Herbin. Currently experimenting with diluting Noodlers Lexington Grey for shading. How about you?
@ellane I love muted and neutral/unique colors. Like a weird mushrooms brown grey. Sepia/warm parchment colors. Olive greens. Diamine earl grey. Colorverse String. FWP Oyster Hour. Although my daily ink is just Pelikan 4001 Brilliant Black- cuz it's practical. I wish shimmer inks didn't clog so much, I basically never use them but I own a lot.
@hyperawarebear
Hi! I'm neurodivergent, enjoy knitting and like fountain pens.
@hyperawarebear hi hi hiiiiiii audhd here and pretty similar interests! I'm shit at journaling but love pens and stationery and do tons of crafty stuff, especially lots of zines rn as I'm gearing up to table a zine fest :))))
@inherentlee I used to be terrible at journaling. Then I finally found the perfect planner, paper, pen, ink combo. And now I do it almost every day! I had to embrace the fun of the supplies and give up the guilt for the 1000000 abandoned notebooks I'd tried before. πŸ˜…
@hyperawarebear oh trust me I'm so on the "fun of supplies" train. I keep a commonplace book instead :)
