@alice ugh I'm working on this too. Some of my default exclamations are "man!" And "dude!", which I never noticed until I had a trans friend and realized how much misgendering (even when not aimed or referential) affects them. It's easy enough to correct, and I care about them and how they feel when I'm around, so it's something I'm putting effort into.
