Video: Amazingly brave woman stops several men presenting themselves as ICE agents from abducting someone at a car wash.

It is not clear if these are really ICE agents or just some guys posing as ICE agents. They back down once confronted.

The woman calls them bounty hunters. Is that really a thing? Are people kidnapping other people and turning them in to ICE? What is going on here?

@mastodonmigration the same thing happened, I think, during the time when the Japanese we're being incarcerated in the US. Citizen groups impersonating authorities taking in victims and turning them in to the authorities.

@f

Incredible. They certainly don't look like real officials, plus the way they retreat once confronted. Wild.

The most unsettling aspect of this video is at the end.

The beginning shows how the brave woman protects the workers, but at the end, you see how these attacks occur on US streets.

They come in 4 or 5 normal civil sedans, and then #Hooligans in army-like clothing, their faces masked step out.

Without any ID.

She calls them bounty hunters. A claim that they get paid for every non-white person that they deliver to ICE.

The #USA has become a scary place.

@mastodonmigration The education that needs to be more than viral. This needs to be *mandatory* in every school in the United States, both public and private, all grade levels. The younger kids need extra information on getting trained adults involved. Everyone needs to record all of this, and post it every time it happens.

Here's what happens when people don't have that education and get caught in this wacko "drag net."

Those are also bounty hunters. I don't believe they are "deputized" or whatever. Just a bunch of J6-style thugs looking for money.

@mastodonmigration that's the entire point of the unaccountability. Every cosplay KKK vigilante with a police scanner can get extrajudicial in broad daylight now. Which is why you need to put a brick in the temple of any one of these assholes who doesn't want to identify themselves.
@OvertonDoors @mastodonmigration 911 would be more effective, particularly since they are armed. A report of armed and masked men out in public should draw a SWAT team...it has in Massachusetts.

@jhavok @mastodonmigration

Maybe, maybe not. I'll take you at your word on that.

But I'll tell you this.

If some asshole in a ski mask and military surplus tries to drag me into a van I'm not going politely. Grew up in the south, seen and heard enough to know there are animals out there that look and sound just like a man. And I'll tell you this, if I see it happening to another I'll gladly sit in a county cell with a clean concience for stopping a hate crime while the real cops sort shit out.

@mastodonmigration i assume ICE is paying people to help round up brown people. what else would this be besides a straight up kidnap and murder plot?
@mastodonmigration Does the legality of it (ie., whether they are really ICE agents) really even matter any more? What is happening is a racist purge. Even if made into a law it would still be morally questionable.

@mastodonmigration

It's insane that every news article about these Icestapo thugs first says they did not show identification and then just says oh yeah well they were ICE.

@mastodonmigration

The one guy had a video camera rig. They came two and even one person per hodge podge of vehicles, pick up trucks and crappy old sedans. Nothing but their Amazon purchased army vests looked legit.

What has the USA become?

@mastodonmigration I don't know how to verify, but according to this video yes, ICE is paying bounty hunters up to $1500 per person they kidnap. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DLDiYGrBH7B/?igsh=MWdqaWplZHdzMjNsYw==

@rejinl If true or not - the rumour is enough to put these thugs on the streets hunting. What will they do, if they hand their victims over to ICE and they don't pay them? @mastodonmigration
@Dodo_sipping @mastodonmigration They certainly look like freelancers, in their personal vehicles and rag tag costumes. We might not learn the full truth until/unless there are investigations after the regime is deposed.
@rejinl @mastodonmigration
Whenever the question is how can we hurt as many non white people as possible, the answer is "Ask Stephen Miller what he wants"
@mastodonmigration
This is truly horrendous!
The US under trump seems to be getting increasingly lawless!!!
'the best country in the world??'
@mastodonmigration Yes. Bounty Hunting is still legal in the US.
@mastodonmigration
Wow! What a woman! ❤️❤️
@mastodonmigration 😥 You can hear the fear in her voice. She’s incredible, and it looks like she was absolutely correct. They didn’t even leave going down the same street together.
What a woman.
@HarriettMB @mastodonmigration 3 year anno on women losing their reproductive rights today!

@mastodonmigration

Wow, incredible.... I don't think they are ICE either..

@mastodonmigration she was well within her rights to busta cap in their ass!
