Jumped the paddock afforded to me, now I'm happily grafted onto a rock in the Pacific. My roots are still in #SoFlo.
Emerson's words, my sentiments:https://openlibrary.org/books/OL7042536M/Emerson%27s_essay_on_compensation

I was recently reminded of this powerful statement by the International Astronomical Union! Yes!

"...no group has the right to change Earth's environment in any significant way without full international study and agreement"

Yes! We need this energy!

...by the way, this is from 1961.

NOT EVEN TRYING TO MANUFACTURE CONSENT ANYMORE, I SEE.

It seems like the main perk of being in Congress is that you get to commit flagrant insider trading with impunity--to serve yourself and not your country.

Interview: How Cairo turned from supporting Palestine to willingly participating in Gaza’s siege.

Once a regional heavyweight, Egypt is now beholden to Gulf cash & Western approval.

"Egypt’s foreign policy now serves Saudi, Emirati & Israeli interests.

"Sisi’s repression has gutted domestic opposition.

"The Palestinian cause remains a radicalising force in Egyptian politics."

How Egypt lost its regional power – and became complicit in Gaza’s siege: One on One with Hossam el-Hamalawy

“Egypt was a regional heavyweight - now its policy serves Gulf and Israeli interests.” Egyptian journalist Hossam el-Hamalawy joins MEE’s Dania Akkad to unpack how Cairo went from being a regional heavyweight to a state beholden to Gulf cash and Western approval. In this interview, El-Hamalawy explains why Egypt’s foreign policy now serves Saudi, Emirati and Israeli interests, how Sisi’s repression has gutted domestic opposition, and why the Palestinian cause remains a radicalising force in Egyptian politics. He describes how Cairo has turned from a supporter of Palestine to a willing participant in Gaza’s siege, shutting down the Rafah crossing and echoing Israeli narratives. He warns that another uprising is coming - and this time, Egypt’s regime might not survive it.

Embarrassing watching the Prime Minister follow Trump about the planet seeking an audience.

Just ignore the shitstain, Albo. Bully craves attention and will come sucking up eventually. And as his word means nothing, what's the point in having one?

BREAKING: Kilmar Abrego Garcia is getting a new set of high-profile lawyers for his criminal case in Tennessee. Sean Hecker, Jenna Dabbs, & David Patton of Hecker Fink and Rascoe Dean of Sherrard Roe Voigt & Harbison filed a motion Tuesday evening to take over as counsel for Abrego Garcia. Dean is the former Deputy Criminal Chief in the Middle District of Tennessee U.S. Attorney’s Office, Patton is the former longtime head of the Federal Defenders of New York, Hecker is the Hecker of Hecker Fink and a former Federal Defender, and Dabbs is a former Assistant U.S. Attorney from the Southern District of New York. All four are partners at their respective firms. So, what is this about? Hecker Fink is a firm that is very familiar with taking on politicized cases — and Attorney General Pam Bondi has made clear this is a politicized case. Although I’m certain the Federal Public Defender for the Middle District of Tennessee that was initially assigned to the case would have more than ably represented Abrego Garcia, I think this is a smart switch to lawyers and firms that not only have extremely strong legal credentials but also are better situated to handle the political implications of the case.

Everyone knows there are going to be huge parties when he dies, but why wait?

What we should do is start celebrating his death now. The next big protest should be themed around his funeral and how happy everyone is.

In Europe we should keep our eyes on the ball, that is Ukraine, not Gaza or Iran. Our most primary and direct interests (security ,economy) are connected with the fight between Russia and Ukraine. Not saying those other theatres are not relevant but just less important.

The data says you'll probably kill someone if you live there. With 'crime-predicting' police tech, it doesn't matter if you've done it.
