It's like Poilievre demanding to remain Leader and live off the Canadian people, even after he lost his seat. Yes, it's revolting and a waste of tax dollars, but he will keep Maple MAGA in the wilderness. The Trump stench never comes off.
The money for his mansion is a small price to pay to keep his party out of power and Canadian democracy safe from them.
Too bad it didn't come from his own pocket instead of ours. Maybe that just pissed off his die-hards among the little people enough to make them take a few moments and think, though.
@ajkiller The Army had events planned, but the parade was his idea. He'd been nagging for a parade all through his first term.
The other military branches will be having their 250th this year as well. No parades planned for them.

Unfortunately, no matter the “official” occasion, it will be seen as Trump’s birthday parade.
I enjoyed the snippets I saw of soldiers marching out of time and others waving to the crowd from tanks.
Clearly not drilled in the art of parading. And that’s fine - I’m sure they spend their time on more valuable training exercises.
He looks like he could fall asleep at any moment.
