Thread: TIL that Indian central and state gazettes are archived by PublicResource.org at https://archive.org/details/gazetteofindia.

This is an invaluable reference considering that copies of the gazette are either not available online or there are several issues with accessing them.

In 2013, I tried to get CDs of the Maharashtra Gazette because of problems with its website including copies of the gazette just having disappeared or turning gibberish. I have quite a story to tell.

@priyanshu Same. The repository has existed for a while. I learnt about it only today.

@rohini I've looked at some gazettes in the past and frequent Internet Archive a lot, but couldn't connect the dots. This might make it easier to tag editions based on topics and events.
