The post that I was responding to referenced "Trumps masked soldiers." This is an obvious reference to ICE, not the national guard. That is why I said that they were at war with foreign nationals that broke the law to get here.
The picture of Biden was an obvious response to the original post's insinuation that a military parade to celebrate the the 250th anniversary of the army was scary.
The national guard in Cali was not being discussed.

That said, if you want to discuss the national guard in California, Trump is not the first President to call up the national guard without the governor's wishes.
The first time that happened was in Arkansas in 1965.

I literally can't find anything about the president sending the national guard to Arkansas in 1965. The only thing I could find about the president doing such a thing in relation to Arkansas was in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1957 in order to enforce the federal court orders of desegregation, which, for obvious reasons, I wouldn't call fascistic. 1/3

Also, to clarify, I don't think what Trump is doing with the national guard is fascistic specifically because he overrode the goverors authority, since that is something that the president can legally do in extreme emergencies. The reason I'm calling it fascistic is because this is no huge emergency. It's about 2,000 people or so protesting in a Home Depot. It doesn't meet the criteria necessary to enforce the Militia Act of 1903. 2/3

First off, Trump hasn't stopped anything yet; the national guard are basically just getting to LA.
Second, Trump hasn't even waited to see if the LA police could handle the situation themselves before deploying the national guard. He just declared that the situation was too much for the LA police to handle without any evidence and sent them anyway. This is all just a spectacle to show off his power and intimidate people into not protesting against ICE.

June 1, 2020, protesters gathered near Lafayette Square, just north of the White House, and clashes with law enforcement occurred. In response, President Trump directed the activation of the National Guard in Washington, D.C., to assist with crowd control and to help restore order.
@joshua @Radical_EgoCom @randahl Unnamed Militarized Federal Agents...with regard to Portland. Either way, it was a dictatorial use of federal forces against protetors in stark opposition to state and city governments' wishes.
Whether or not he is openly bragging about what agency he's sending or not, it's still snatching people off of the street using Federal Agents. We can debate the difference between law enforcement and military all day and get nowhere.
