Has anyone successfully appealed an App Store decision? Or am I just spinning my wheels here.

@Alexjusino Cannot make a recommendation without understanding the context of the rejection.

But sometimes it can be faster to just re-submit

@jesly They rejected my app saying it should be a consumable to be used for a. year or that I should add more dynamic AI capabilities for it to be renewable subscriptions. However, I just found a similar app, they don't have dynamic capabilities but they do renewable subscriptions. So trying to figure out if I code more and add more features (don't really want to but alas I might have to) or do I ask for another review and give them this info.
@Alexjusino @jesly I’ve had a few discussions with them on app behavior, and got thru. I really wish they didn’t have a say in what a MVP is or is not!

@Alexjusino
The requirement to have consumable that give access to customer for 1 year is bit absurd from the reviewer.

Apple in their review guidelines states that you can have the option of subscriptions as long as users get consistent and substantive updates.

One pattern I see is to offer a life time purchase along with subscriptions which might satisfy what the reviewer is pointing it.

Hope you get your in app purchase through without much hassle!

@jesly I always feel it is interesting that the code constantly changes so I have to continuously update it but somehow I shouldn’t charge for my time. Thanks for your post. I’m going to wait and see what Monday announcements bring but I may arm myself up again and resubmit whilst asking why is this other app able to do subscriptions when they aren’t really providing a dynamic product.
@Alexjusino I have also been involved in some successful App Store appeals, not for any of my own apps but for the app of the company I worked for at the time. In my experience it can really be worth it to explain to them in a lot of detail why you think your appeal is justified.
@johwahl Thank you! I may have to write all of this down, and then play devil’s advocate against myself and see if I can argue my way thru it. I suspect I didn’t explain it all when I submitted my meta data.
