working on updating an app, and knowing that I can't access private Apple API's to make sure things work exactly as I want them to work is somewhat frustrating at times. Wished I could ask the Apple Watch team a few questions in regards to the device and capabilities .
We will be seeing so much of this. Brace yourselves. https://www.popsci.com/technology/robot-vacuum-army/

The plus side of updating a workout app, you have to get off your desk and walk around the block a few times.

After using Xcode 26.3 and asking a few questions in the AI fairy godmother window it is clear either we are all gonna need a bigger "boat" or more ponies or whatever you wanna call it. But right now the two together are not quite vibing together.

A Classic case of "Its not me, it's YOU!"

I have an M3 MacBook Pro, why is Xcode 26.3 so slow. Is everyone experiencing this? I still have like 370GB of storage. Is everyone experiencing this?
Testing on a phone / watch at the same time is a taking me to a new level of patience. Why does everything have to be so complicated. Just work!
Unwrap Live is tomorrow! It's a full day of online workshops focusing on SwiftUI special effects. If you're a Hacking with Swift+ subscriber the stream links are on the HWS+ page. If you aren't, there's still time to subscribe, or buy a one-off ticket: https://ti.to/hacking-with-swift/unwrap-live-2026
Unwrap Live 2026

Unwrap Live is a one-day online workshop event where we'll focus entirely on creating special effects with SwiftUI. The event is aimed at intermediate to advanced developers, but I'll be explaining all the concepts along the way. We'll be focusing on a wide variety of topics, including drawing with Canvas, layer effects, scroll effects, custom text rendering, Metal shaders, and more – it's a lot of fun, and the skills you'll learn will help you add lots of surprise and delight to your next app! All sessions will take place on US Eastern time, from 9am to 4pm. They will be recorded, and you'll be able to download the videos afterwards. Note: Tickets cost $100 each, but Hacking with Swift+ subscribers get access free. If you aren't already a Hacking with Swift+ subscriber, you can find out more here. I'm also offering two other ticket types: A diversity sponsor ticket, which is for folks who already have a ticket and want me to give one ticket away to someone who would otherwise not be able to attend. A ticket + diversity sponsor option, where you can buy a ticket for yourself and one for me to donate. Thank you for your support!

Does anyone know what other Swift conferences happening during the year in the United States? I always remember the One More Thing Conference in California but I thought there were others. Looking to perhaps attend something else this year (or at least use it as an excuse to get out of the bad Chicago weather for a few days).
Hmm, I don’t quite know how I feel about this, it may not work now (or never) but I suspect someone eventually WILL make this work. https://www.wsj.com/tech/ai/openai-apple-app-store-sam-altman-7a9b08ca?mod=hp_lead_pos11

Why do I get so anxious the moment its time to hit the "Submit for Review" Button. It's like I'm loading a huge event with a million different pieces into a box truck (old job anxiety folks!) and feeling like I'm about to jump off a plane. You don't quite know if you are screwed until you do it.

Anyone else have that feeling or is it just me?
