It’s really unfortunate that I won’t be able to present my talk in person at GUADEC 2025 in Italy. As an Iranian, I’m once again affected by unjust OFAC regulations. IRANIANS are not the Islamic Republic, and we’re nothing like it.

I couldn’t get travel sponsorship because of these restrictions. It’s deeply unfair.

I really hope @gnome considers reinstating a workaround for supporting individuals in Iran. I know there used to be someone who could purchase travel tickets directly to avoid financial transactions with Iran, but that person has since left. I sincerely hope the situation gets fixed.

@revisto I feel you. Russian contributors face similar challenges. I don't share your optimism that the situation will improve any time soon but hope you'll be able to find a solution. Wish you a successful GUADEC talk despite all the hurdles 🫂
