Anadol | the PROPAGANDA site

Anadol is the name used by keyboardist and electronic artist Gözen Atila for her constantly evolving work that seamlessly combines an array of styles, including electronic music, krautrock, and free jazz that is interlaced with Turkish folk motifs throughout. She has a distinct style that is at once progressive and forward-looking in its layering of effects and overall flow, but also slightly campy nostalgic with her playful use of the classic Casio sound on keyboards and its pre-programmed beats. Her more recent recordings have been shifting into a more free-flowing direction with an improvisational style that is particularly bolstered by the jazz artists who are given a free rein in the studio. None of that takes the backseat, though, to the solid melodic foundation in her music and the powerful sense one gets in her work that every tune, every groove is carefully constructed.
