I've been updating a thread with information about Rodney Hinton and his son Ryan who was killed by police.
I've been updating a thread with information about Rodney Hinton and his son Ryan who was killed by police.
Attached: 1 video Black people have been talking about the shooting death of a Black teenager, Ryan Hinton, who was shot while running from police. Cops had conflicting stories one said they saw him with a gun another said he saw him drop the gun then run. Either way the kid was killed Over the weekend the teenager's father is alleged to have killed another police officer by running them over with a car in retaliation for the death of his son. #Cincinnati #ACAB #RyanHinton #RodneyHinton #breaking #blackmastodon
A lot of comments about Ryan Hinton's death being necessary because he may have had a gun.
First off Ryan was of legal age in a state where open carry is LEGAL. If you think Ryan should die because a cop SAW a gun then go change the open carry law.
Anyways, here's two white kids ACTIVELY pointing guns at cops who manage to not kill them.
In Cincinnati, the cops have a well known history of killing unarmed Blacks but arresting alive armed Whites suspects.
Timothy Thomas was unarmed at the time of his death and was only fleeing cops when they killed him. Over the previous 5 years the cops had killed FIFTEEN Black crime suspects in similar situations. Meanwhile the cops killed ZERO white suspects under similar chases, despite the white population and incidents being significantly higher. It did not matter if the White suspects were armed or unarmed. #Cincinnati #ACAB #police #ohio #TimothyThomas #blacklivesmatter
The issue that has really moved a lot of folks like me who used to be distracted by the "why did they have gun?" argument off to fully into the ACAB perspective is that bad cops are so rarely punished.
It can be the most cut and dry case of murder and the cops get off, typically with ZERO jail time or direct economic penalty.
Literally the same one of the US most well covered cases of police murder had this update . . .
Attached: 1 video Update in the Tyre Nichols case, the cops who murdered him have now been acquitted. Exhibit A for why don't I give a singular flying fuck when a cop allegedly becomes road kill. FUCK THE POLICE & PISS ON THEIR GRAVES. https://www.localmemphis.com/article/news/local/memphis-reform-legislative-ex-officers-acquitted-tyre-nichols/522-7566dd42-7d49-4a0a-ba29-1f52592cf78b #TyreNichols #Memphis #TN #ACAB
Next, white people REALLY don't know what the fuck life is like for the majority of Black Americans and poor whites.
Cops profile as a rule all dark Black people and and poor people. If you happen to fit the profile for both then you're going to have WAAY more police contact than average.
Every police stop in the US comes with a literal threat of arbitrary death.
For Philando Castile he was stopped at least 46 times in pretextual stops before his death.
A good friend of mine in high school was stopped at a frequency similar to Philando Castile.
He was one of the biggest nerds in high school, but he was also black and had a cheap car.
He was stopped by cops almost weekly for years. We worried about him constantly.
The police are a deadly threat to me, my friends and my family. And have been my whole life.
Cops harass + kill the wrong people, don't investigate the crimes the community wants help with and frequently are criminals themselves.
I grew up being taught at home a more MLK outlook on things. One know the one: "if Black people strive for Black Excellence, Black Capitalism and Black faces in high places things would be all right. Oh and smile, have a positive attitude!"
My very first police interaction without my parents absolutely shattered this entire outlook. Every year since has only cemented it further. . .
All cops are bastards.
Trying an MLK style "reformist" approach now is about as useful as cleaning up an asbestos infestation by getting all your friends to huff the fumes up with your own lungs and zero PPE.
We're at the phase with police killings where we've got stage 4 cancer and people are certain the problem is that we just need to inhale a little bit more asbestos.
