Online rumors suggest that the car Ryan Hinton was driving may have been leased by Ryan but he had missed payments so the car dealership allegedly called the car in as stolen.
Many people have been assuming that the car Ryan was in had been actively stolen but its not clear at this time if this was simply a lease dispute that was escalated to police.

So it would seem Rodney's lawyer is leaning hard into the temporary insanity defense.
Given the history of blatantly unnecessary killings of Black teenagers in Cincinnati and Ohio alone, to speak nothing of the nation wide history, it is somewhat refreshing to see Rodney's obviously destroyed emotional state taking center stage.
The cops killed his son, unnecessarily, and it would be a statistical outlier if the cops are held accountable.
