David HoBottom trawling is horribly destructive to coastal ocean ecosystems, and deep-sea mining will do the same to the open ocean. #OceanFilm
Timothy Schwinghamer (he/him)@davidho my father (Peter Schwinghamer) used to study the effects of trawling on the benthic ecosystem. He had hours of video of the ocean bottom desertified by trawling. It was horrifying.

@ClaireFromClare @projectseahorse @davidho Well, he died a long time ago, and my mother didn't keep anything of his. Maybe there would be copies at the Northwest Atlantic Fisheries Centre in St. John's? Maybe Paul Kepkay or Bill Silvert would have copies.
