#Globalwarming causes temperatures to rise, more sea #turtle eggs are developing into females. As in some other #reptiles turtle’s sex is dependent on incubation temperature. Without enough males, even a seemingly thriving population can collapse.
Conservation efforts, #marineprotectedareas, fishing regulations and protecting egg clutches, are helping populations, but may not provide full picture.

Nearly 200 nations pledged in 2022 to protect 30% of Earth by 2030. By 2025, 9.6% of the ocean is covered by marine protected areas, up from 8.4% in 2024.

But only 3.2% are highly or fully protected—raising concerns about “paper parks” that still allow destructive activities.

✌️Restoration

The problems:
1. We cannot strictly protect everywhere. It is simply not feasible.
2. We cannot realistically restore everywhere.
