Especially, English nowadays is a global language. There are plenty of variation of English, like Singaproean English, Indian English, and so on. I've seen Asian people getting attacked online by (mostly) American for speaking their own variation of English.
Gimp itself has a neutral meaning in Asia, there's no need to force American English language as a global standard.

@celbri @j_s_j it’s enough that people are hurt by the name, and that some organizations, including schools, feel they can’t use GIMP internally for fear of hurting people. It’s not about forcing one standard (and it’s not only a problem in American English).
