I swear these billionaires could announce they're going to start hunting us for sport and some people would still be out there defending it with they're whole chest like
"you're just mad because you can't run fast."
@jascha tbh as a nihilist I'm unsure whether it's a good or bad thing that they're creeping out of their holes - a known danger is better than an unknown one.
Still sucks this shit exists and we have to deal with it tho.
@jascha @lunte161
“Let all the poisons that lurk in the mud hatch out!”

@lunte161 @jascha The philosophical difference there is that their "creeping out" is an inevitability as part of their function of "existing until there's enough of them to feel comfy enough to come out."

Them being unknown or not is just a part of the same timeline, rather than a choice between the two.

(This is my opinion on that.)

@lunte161 @jascha I disagree - a known danger is only better as an unknown, if you know (how) to overcome it. If you are uncertain, both - known & unknown - give you equivalent/equal chances. If you are certain you cannot overcome or survive the known danger, you are better off to choose the unknown. It comes with the benefit of excitement & thus unleashes extra endorphines = extra energy. Out of 3 scenarios, only 1 is an option.
@jascha
You just have to work hard to become a hunter too!

@jascha
"I swear these billionaires could announce they're going to start hunting us for sport and some people would still be out there defending it with they're whole chest like
"you're just mad because you can't run fast."

Of course they fucking would.
It'd be worse than that. It would be people with no money violently defending their right to hunt us for sport. SPOILER: They'd be shocked when their son or daughter or wife or husband disappeared into the "Hunting Club Network".

@rhelune @jascha
lol...that was fun. Still, I gotta go with Lemmy and EAT the Rich...it's nowhere near as much fun, just more accurate to my own, um, internal aesthetic

@clintruin @jascha Oh, definitively (and not in the way they would like)!
@rhelune @clintruin @jascha oh wow I love that! Thank you for sharing. 😃
@jascha
Only the slow will fall!
@jascha That's exactly how I feel. A lot of black people do.
@jascha yes, the movie the Purge doesn't sound too unrealistic anymore.
@jascha Ah, you made the mistake of reading a LinkedIn post, I see.
@jascha The worship of raw brutal power does hold a fatal fascination for many people. I wonder if it is connected to unchained rage in that it feels liberating as rules not longer apply and you feel you can do anything

@jascha

MAGA "Hunger Games" now in progress.......

@jascha if those people support capital extraction and private property and generational wealth as "natural concepts that exist in nature and just are" and not metaphysical concepts arising from the consent of the governed?

Of course.

Capitalist imperialism and western enlightenment thought that stopped ar Descartes and Columbus and 1776 is a helluva drug. 💃

@jascha From my point of view it is more than time to aim three inch to the right #3ITTR
@jascha you're bitching about a system that is equal to playing Monopoly board game if someone wins most of the board they get an immense amount of power someone's going to get it name me some real serious facts that are red flags when it comes to Elon Musk if you had his money how would you deal with it would you be the bad guy if you won most of the Monopoly board get a grip just get a grip
@pitchpenny And there is the billionaire fanboy.
@[email protected] @jascha have you considered not having power over people in the first place that’s a good idea let’s do that, hey I’m offering a trade to all the other players where I give them half the money I have because this is the real fucking world where peoples lives are at stake and involved not a fucking game of monopoly, and also what red flags? how about the fucking nazi salute? - heck the whole point of the game of monopoly was to show that this is extremely bad actually,
@jascha @Li @jascha ok li in a predatoral universe you run with the let's all be friends lion with the lamb.... We are self domesticated creatures and to get to top of the food chain there were winners and losers yes it would be grand if we all could share the world but we are simply not up to that task....new worlds are always built on slavery.... What we have now is slavery with benefits.... Robots are the final solution.... Not more human slavery..Look at the mechanical elephant in the room!

@jascha 100%
The principle of stupidity.

@jascha I'm in rural Texas. Bubbas cant run. Used to call them Dickydoos because their guts stick out farther than their dickies do. Louis CK already had a bit about reintroducing man eating predators in the cities. He was always a jerk. I stopped liking him when I read he makes daughters walk to school in Chicago in winter to build character. 10+ years ago. 🤷
@jascha are you upset because you can't run fast?
/d
@jascha billionaires don’t realize that it’s like a thousand times more likely that we’ll start hunting them. I think about it every day. I dream about it.
@OGjester @jascha Eat the rich! ...but before we do, we must catch them first! 😂

@mxu @OGjester @jascha

Eat the rich. The poor are tough and stringy.

@LevZadov @OGjester @jascha And the delicate stomachs of the rich can not tolerate eating us - because of we're too spicy for them. 😉
@jascha What is it called when you laugh and cry at the same time?
@RickiTarr @jascha
Check this Austrian movie, it’s based on the same idea and scared me when I watched it last January: too close to reality

@jascha they'd tell us some shit like "they're leveling the playing field. you could hunt down the billionaire and get their wealth as long as you aren't weak"

@jascha

All it takes is a Robespierre to deal with it... and when this goes on like it is, that time might come...

@jascha Und ich heute so.. "Friedrich Merz hat so viel politisches Feingefühl wie...ääähh jaa hmmm mir fällt kein Vergleich ein."

Wo nehmt ihr anderen immer diese Vergleiche her? Sehr treffend jedenfalls!

@jascha

I’ve assumed Zuck has been doing this for decades.

@jascha
'Wee just need to trust them/him and let them try stuff and see how it goes'

This is the new one I'm already sick of.

@jascha Well that's true. But it goes way further. We even have ppl, sometimes on very important positions like president of USA, saying Ukraine started war by attacking russia on Ukraine's territory. 💁‍♂️ Welcome to post modernism where reality doesn't matter because all that matters is "how I feel about it" XD

@jascha 21st Century gladiatorial games.

1st step: Make poverty illegal

2nd step: Conscript illegal impoverished to participate in blood sport for entertainment

3rd step: Televise it and make a fortune on sponsorships, advertising, PPV, and "mistakenly" rounding up the enemies of you and your billionaire friends and "losing the paperwork" on them until they die in the blood sports.

@jascha Why does this sound realistic? Like it could actually be real.
@jascha Stephen King wrote books about that..
