A British book from 1868 uses the phrase, but lets King Frederick of Prussia say the phrase for example.
Its as German as Stosslüften.

No #Problem. Everybody knows, what I mean. Not every Time i catch a #Lexicon for #Synonyms or #Expressions. And everyone can know, that I'm german. 😁

Actually an American Germanist complained about my usage of "making the goat the gardener" before. And he was right, since I have Indian coworkers, such phrases result in even more confusion.

cindyyusaAlzheimer’s and dementia are not covered by most if any insurance especially when the person needs 24-7 care. Convalescent homes are not cheap and they will take every dime that you saved . Bringing a loved one home and caring for them yourself it's just so exhausting, especially while working full-time. Lucky for me I worked nights and my husband was retired ( An angel from the film industry) .

ipofanes@georgetakei Not to say I am on the fence, but I can see the fence from here. Billions of dollars have been spent on #Alzheimer research without much progress in sight. I am not an expert in the field but could imagine that clinical research may currently be a waste because there is no promising path to follow.
