It's "Hoarder's Syndrome". If these people were poor, they'd be living in a house with old newspapers stacked to the ceiling. But instead, they hoard money. It's all part of their insecurity. With money comes power and a sense of security.

There's an interesting "two-fer" in what #Mamdani did:
#MafiaDon made most of his (pre-Potus) fortune selling "no questions asked" properties to Russian drug lords looking to launder their crime money. They'd buy condos in his buildings as "investments" but not live in them.
This is, of course, a crime, and part what #Felon47 was convicted of (37 counts) last year.
