The main island there is Diego Garcia.
The *only* thing on Diego Garcia is a military base jointly operated by the US and UK.
So... we just applied a tariff to our own military base.

Well, probably they're SEALs who were stationed at Diego Garcia and were converted into actual seals as part of a military sea-warfare project.
I mean, we gotta work in *both* the Diego Garcia as well as the Heard & McDonald stories, right?
(Best real theory I've heard so far: they used an LLM to write all this, and it divided the world by top-level domains of the internet. Hence having .io for Diego Garcia, and .hm for Heard & McDonald made them separate tariff targets.)
