Working solutions to the inherent problems and contradictions of capitalism always look like socialism for some mysterious reason, so the conversation is dropped and the lesson forgotten until next time round, maybe hoping "reality's left-wing bias" will go away if they ignore it for a while.
@XennyG @justincox @molly0xfff also they were handed inordinate power and money without any requisite education or (real, meaningful) accomplishment. Like grad students joining startups and getting millions of dollars because, uh, they joined the right club that their daddies paid for them to get into?
It says Meritocracy Club on the door so that must mean they have merit, right?
@everythingispublichealth It's free information for the wrong people, for those people that they need to stay uninformed and suppressed.
@molly0xfff
Its happened again! They've outdone themselves this time.

Ken Herman in same league of deep thinkers as Glenn Beck
Being mansplained stupid ideas by a "Herman" troll is kinda amusing.
@molly0xfff Just wait until he hears about the "library of things" concept! π² His head might explode!

@molly0xfff there needs to be a term like carcinisation for using government resources efficiently

Oh, I laughed so loud it frightened the cat π
This reminds me of, tech bros (almost) invent trains.

Rather than caring about yet another uneducated idiot called Ken showing the world that the last remaining brain cell in his head doesn't work, I'd ask why you're paying a fascist billionaire?
All people with a blue checkmark on Elmo's platform have to pay for it. It's part of the subscription scheme.
Accounts, which he allowed to be regularly verified, are gray checkmarks.
Or are you saying that Elmo is no fascist billionaire? π€
Elon Muskβs X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, has started restoring complimentary blue checks to some of its users. Thatβs caused confusion online. Last year, X began removing the verification badges from users who do not pay for the platformβs new Premium subscription β stripping checkmarks from an array of celebrities and other prominent accounts. But on Wednesday night and Thursday morning, numerous users reported seeing the blue checks return or appear for the first time despite not paying for them. Musk, who bought the platform for $44 billion back in October 2022, said last week that all X accounts with more than 2,500 verified subscriber followers would get Premium features β which includes the blue check β for free going forward.
Okay, sorry I didn't know that Elmo backpedaled on this. π
You made my day with this.
@molly0xfff - Economies of scale for us plebs? Waaaaaaa?!?!
I'm getting real tired of those folks.
Can't help but feel that Mr. Herman's true frustration is that he, personally, cannot control a library.
Ffsβ¦
@molly0xfff Not if he's talking about getting each individual their own book, each and every one they read.
When I grew up fairly poor I read a LOT and even at those prices then that would have been a considerable bill today. Like I read every book Steven King had written to date when I was 12, borrowing them from the library 5 at a time and trading them back a week later. Something like $1-2000 a year prices back then. 2-3 now.
I switched to programming books later though. So x10 (0_o)
