Germany saw nationwide protests today as hundreds of thousands took to the streets in major cities like Berlin, Cologne, Hamburg, Leipzig, and Munich to stand against the far-right. In Berlin alone, over 160,000 demonstrators gathered, making a powerful statement for democratic values.
And this is from Hamburg—thousands of voices united against the far-right. In the video, protesters are chanting an anti-fascist song.
Over half a million people took to the streets across Germany in nationwide protests against the far-right. In Neu-Isenburg—a city of just 40,000—an incredible 9,000 demonstrators turned out to oppose a local AfD event, showing that resistance is everywhere!

Wow, what a scene!

And what a perfect soundtrac!

I'm shivering, really!
**GOOSEBUMPS!**

Such a scene we will never see in the German TV …

Thank you all so much!!
👏😁

@eunews Why aren't we doing that in the U.S.?

@Chrisblue @eunews

The US News will not even properly report Trudeau and Sheinbaum's well-formed responses to Trump's economic warfare. Even now they're carrying his water, when the only thing they should be doing is calling for his removal from office.

@Chrisblue @eunews
Because it is a country of freedom ;)

Attached: 1 image They avoided one another's faces for fear of what they might see mirrored there. Each man thought: one of the others is bound to say something soon, some protest and then I'll murmur agreement, not actually say anything, I'm not stupid as that, but definitely murmur very firmly, so that the others will be in no doubt that I thoroughly disapprove, because at a time like this it behooves all decent men to nearly stand up and be almost heard. But no-one said anything. The cowards, each man thought.

@eunews Hey when they are done, can they march on Washington DC??? Ill pay their airfare.

@eunews

Fantastisch
Hadden wij hier maar hetzelfde bewustzijn en voorstellingsvermogen als onze oosterburen...

@eunews

160000 is the number published by police. These numbers are notoriously too low. Organizers published numbers of 250000 and above.

@eunews There were over 700,000 demonstrators throughout Germany

@noma @eunews

In a country of 83 million. I'm not great at Math, but I believe we are screwed.

@eunews

Lack of US Coverage aside, hopefully the horrors happening in North America lights a fire under the rears of those "centrists" in the EU. The AfD and their ilk need to be smacked down, and then the EU needs to unify against the very real economic and eventual military threat from Elon Musk and Trump.

@eunews Can you help us get rid of Apartheid Clyde and his bought politicians?
@eunews Where are the protests in the United States? 😔
@eunews It's starting here in the US, but we need more like this.

@eunews

"It depends upon the attention of the people. It depends upon their character. It depends upon their intelligence. It depends upon their intention to do right or wrong. And it depends upon their compassion."
SearingTruth

@eunews so they're protesting against afd, the second most popular, and is some places the most popular party in Germany? How is that democratic values?
@mattesilver @eunews huh, racist antivaxer also shills for Nazis. Who could have known?

@mattesilver @eunews

The State Office for the Protection of the Constitution in three federal states has already classified the local state AfDs as a “confirmed right-wing extremist organization”. In addition, the organization is considered a suspected case in six other federal states. There simply is no room in a democracy for anti-democratic parties, see the paradox of tolerance by Popper.

@mattesilver @eunews With enough misinformation, people will happily vote to dismantle democracy and its values. Germans know this better than anyone.
@eunews hopefully coming soon to America
@eunews We need to do this in Canada instead of whining about not having enough money.
@eunews You would think they were threatening to take Tik-Tok away from them. /sarcasm
@eunews This is amazing to see!
@eunews that’s how it’s done. Thanks for the example, Germany.
@eunews Surprised to find this here!
@eunews "Never Again Is Now!" Spot on!
@eunews Don't go trying to predict elections now, though.

@eunews All I can say is stop buying US products.
@Zło To so they're protesting against afd ... How is that democratic values? so you think it's undemocratic to protest against political parties if they surpass a certain size? but what if 80% of the people reject them?
@jabgoe2089
So you're saying that this particular minority should be persecuted and barred from having a parliamentary representation for having the wrong views
What's next? People with wrong skin colour? Wrong genes?
@Zło To yeah sure, that's what i'm saying. go back to you lair ...
@eunews The US could learn from this... sadly America didn't learn from what Germany went through.. Americans really are collectively stupid.
