@fnordius @skeletor yes, and there is a view that the 'life scroll' your spirit wrote before incarnation will bring you to major nexus points whichever path you take. (BUT it's not set in stone, luckily).

And if you want to get more metaphysical, imagine the path drawings of all you know, lying atop, below, and across yours. Parents, partners, children, friends and 'enemies'...
