BREAKING: The Attorneys General of CA, NY, AZ, CO, CT, DE, HI, IL, ME, MD, MA, MI, MN, NV, NC, NJ, NM, OR, RI, VT, WA, WI, and D.C. have all filed suit against Trump for his budget freeze on vital health services.

The fact that 0 Republican AGs are joining this lawsuit, despite the fact that this freeze hurts their constituents the most, speaks volumes on how MAGA is absolutely a cult.

UPDATE: Federal US District Judge Loren AliKhan has temporarily blocked the Trump regime from implementing their spending freeze. Judge AliKhan’s order expires Feb. 3 at 5pm.

Plaintiff's (correctly) argue that POTUS cannot stop funding to Americans already approved by Congress.

@QasimRashid

Convicted felon President Donald Trump is absolutely positively trying to cause adrenal failure in his constituents, if not the entire world. His repeated cruelty & spastic fiats are INTENDED to scare the shit out of everyone.This pattern of spiking fear through announcing things which probably won’t happen is BY DESIGN. His goal, and that of his owners is to wear us down until we are weak shells of humanity that will accept crumbs from our government. He is an abuser. He is weak.

@mckra1g @QasimRashid This is the message we need to keep driving home!

@QasimRashid I'm noticing he keeps issuing illegal orders to see if someone stops him, and who tries. That's how autocrats operate.

Not that I'm surprised in any way ...

@veronica @QasimRashid hopefully he discovers that there are a lot of people willing to push back. I think, or hope anyway, that he fucked up by going so quickly, just dumping a bunch of frogs into boiling water. Even a lot of his own voters are mad at him now
@veronica @QasimRashid This is what he always does.Pushes things to see what he can get away with. This is why it's so important to push back on *everything*.
@samhainnight @veronica @QasimRashid
It’s almost like “do not obey in advance” was informed by practices in the real world
@QasimRashid do you have a link to the source documents?

@QasimRashid

They should allow the freeze in Red States and then tell the people if they want the money back, they will need to channel their inner-Luigi to get it.

@QasimRashid Trump just thinks he's "the majesty" just igniring that 3/4 of shit needs to go through congress from approval. His dumbass is forgetting he's president of USA and not authoritarian Russia.
@QasimRashid We NYers are lucky we have a stand-your-ground Trump fighter here. Go, Letitia James.
@QasimRashid

Absent Youngkin, my state would likely be on that list of participating states.

@ferricoxide @QasimRashid nah, our AG is this guy:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jason_Miyares

He’s the Hispanic son of refugees. Given birthright citizenship in 1976 (his mother wasn’t naturalized until 1982)

I wonder if anyone has asked him how he feels about _that_ battle.

@QasimRashid Thanks goodness for the constitution and the right to bear arms so people can protect themselves from lack of medical care.
@QasimRashid If by "cult" you mean "treasonous collaborators" i agree.
@QasimRashid These AGs are doing more than many Democrats on the Hill. Is this their plan for “small government”? For the states to be the bearer of all for their citizens?
@QasimRashid
I enjoy living in MD, where our state govrrnment works for us!
@QasimRashid some may just be idiots, but I suspect a lot of the Republican AGs are being strategic: The Democratic AGs will do the work to pause the order before the damage gets too bad, and then the GOP AGs have the worst of the damage avoided but can still complain about the Democrats trying to get in Trump’s way
@jocallag42 @QasimRashid or they know that doing anything about this would take them out of Trump's good graces but most of their constituents don't have an expectation for them to act
Just because something is in a Republican voter's best interest doesn't mean they expect that of a politician, otherwise they wouldn't have voted for Republicans in the first place
@jocallag42 @QasimRashid There’s a part of me that wants Democrats to just stand back and let the American people get what they voted for.

@christ @QasimRashid sitting back for a week or two would make Trump pain a lot more obvious but unfortunately would also have disastrous effects - and in general the Democrats generally put avoiding-disaster above political wins.

But overall I think we agree that what’s really needed is a way to make the MAGA base understand how Trump acts hurt them.

@QasimRashid Thank you MI AG Dana Nessel.
@QasimRashid , I wonder if people stop getting SNAP, Medicare, etc, it will finally sink in with MAGA that this is hurting them day to day?

@QasimRashid

Why would the republican AGs join in? This way they get to watch to see if the court holds it up, and if it does they can say “we’re still fighting the libs.” If it fails, they aren’t involved at all.

@QasimRashid Blue states stepping up while GOP AGs sit on their hands—no surprise there. Freezing vital health services isn’t just cruel, it’s self-sabotage. But hey, loyalty to the cult comes first, even at the expense of their own constituents.
@QasimRashid I hope they are suing for attorneys fees as well 🙄🤯
@QasimRashid FU PA AG Dave Sunday.
@QasimRashid what our speaks violin need to is those governors complete disregard for the well being of their "constituents. " the only care about their party, and the wealth its policies will bring them.

@QasimRashid I wish only those States that filed gets the benefits. The rest that didn't continue the freeze.

This is the only way to make sure everybody has skin in the fight instead of constant win/win riding coat-tails.

@QasimRashid glad that HI is on the list. Anyone wanna take bets on the world talking about "ex #USA states" the same way we say "ex #USSR states" before 2028? Cos i can see #Hawaii and many others considering their options right now.
@QasimRashid s/MAGA/the entire irredeemable GOP/g.
@QasimRashid
So frustrating that PA now has a Republican AG, in office for one week.
@QasimRashid Yes, I am very pleased with our Attorney General of Colorado, Phil Weiser, and the work he is doing for both our state and the nation.
@QasimRashid neoliberal shock therapy because of the debt
@QasimRashid What is the case number? I want to send a nasty e-mail to my state AG (and the biggest newspaper in the state) and try to publicly shame him into joining the action.
