It's been a while so I'm gonna do a new #introduction

I'm Emmy and I wanna find kind, cozy and interesting people here, so feel free to say hi ๐Ÿ‘‹

I'm not very active, mostly a lurker, but I love talking about #Movies especially on #Letterboxd (lmk if you wanna follow me there), #Videogames #MechanicalKeyboards and #Tech in general. I have more interests but those are my main ones

I have NO tolerance for facists, racists or anti-LGBTQI+ people. FYI: Trans women are women, Trans men are men๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€โšง๏ธ

@fedicat
Hello, #MechanicalKeyboards friend.
Which keyboards do you like?

@AAMfP the ones that sound thocky

I'm looking into buying a Keychron soon. I know they're not the greatest, but they're enough for me atm.

How about you?

@fedicat
I'm a clicky guy.
- I've spent 20+ years with my IBM Model M.
- Then I bought a Filco Majestouch 2 TKL with Cherry Blues.
- Then a few weeks with a Royal Kludge RK61.
- Then continued pairing the Majestouch (at home) with a GMMK 1 barebone with custom keycaps and Gateron Blues (in office).

And now it's been 1,5 years I'm using an ErgoDash as daily driver everywhere, right now waiting for its endgame keycaps set I tooted about a few days ago.

(Yeah, I know, lots of money gone... ๐Ÿ˜ญ)

@AAMfP Haha lots of money but lots of fun, it seems! Which is the most important part.

You survived in the office while working with clicky switches?  Looks like you have good colleges lol

@fedicat
Some complained, actually, but in the end they resisted.
Now the ErgoDash is still clicky, but Kailh Whites, so a bit less louder and unfortunately a bit less strong.
Maybe I'll go with Navy switches, sooner or later. ๐Ÿ˜‡

@AAMfP haha I actually find that in the beginning, they tend to be quite annoying and noticeable but after a while your brain kind of tunes the noise out

I never tried a split keyboard and I'm very intrigued by them actually

@fedicat
I love it: not so difficult to get used to, and having fun in modding the layout to my needs (e.g.: inner columns are now select all, copy/cut and paste/paste as text).
Then I had the unfortunate idea to try and set Colemak Mod-DH, after eons with QWERTY... and it's _very_ hard to get used to it.
And I'm not a touch-typer.
But I'm having fun!๐Ÿ˜‰
ErgoDash

@AAMfP I tried typing Dvorak a few years ago and got semi decent at it. Tried Colemak a bit but it wasnโ€™t my thing

Thatโ€™s quite a keyboard journey you got there ๐Ÿ˜…

@fedicat
I had a lot of time to think... but now I feel good. ๐Ÿ˜‡
Waiting for the new keycaps, let's see. โค๏ธ
