Please remember to update your passwords. It is now Winter2025!

Please make a note of it.

@jerry hunter2025

@urda @jerry

why is your password *******025? 🤔

@jerry time to append 2025 to all my passwords
@jerry i literally said exactly this to dinner company we were cooking for yesterday, hahaha - same password, verbatim
@jerry requires a special character and cannot be @#$_&-+()/*"':;!?~`|•√π÷ק∆£¢€¥^°={}\%©®™✓
@jerry I worked for a company which did that. Our manager would make up a new password based on the season. One was "schussing." I'm not sure we believed in capital letters back then.
@jerry this feels like it should be a company-wide announcement on Thursday.
@jerry write it down in an easily accessible place, in case you forget it
@jerry Shared Perl code to update passwords earlier :)
@jerry most services won't let you use a 5825 character long password unfortunately
@jerry
Except if you do Salesforce, where it's Spring2025! as of yesterday

@jerry "QzqjdgeADm2ucjv" this is my real password... good luck figuring out what service.. what email and the second factor tho.

Edit: this is a bit. please no hacky.

@jerry only a fool would use that password. I use my cats name which is far more secure. The only downside is I now need to rename my cat to fluffy2025
@jerry I once had a job, where it would've been Sommer2025. Two different jobs actually
@jerry I future-proofed my password, it's Summer2039. I don't need to change it until after the UNIX epoch overflows a 32-bit counter and the world ends.
@jerry Thank you for this very sound piece of advice. I'll make sure to stick said note right onto my computer screen.🙃
@jerry Most now require Winter#2025.... SIGH
@jerry Don't update passwords, use proper ones and a password manager
@jerry Ah man, I JUST updated it to Winter2024! only 11 days ago!
@jerry stop guessing and publishing my passwords.
@jerry So you worked for the Swiss Administration too? Or is that stupid way of "temporary Passwords" more widespread than i assumed?
@jerry not far off! I’m about to start a new school term, which means I’m about to get my every-term “it’s a new term so we’ve reset your college login’s password to ‘newone’, you will be required to change this the first time you log on.” email.
@jerry @lesekaffee All of them. The master password and every single entry in your password manager.
@jerry I added a number to that to confuse the h4xors
