I am thinking of flying into KMIC (Crystal Airport in Minneapolis) but their lack of FBO and from pilot comments stating minimal tie downs has me rethinking it (especially since it’s winter 🥶)

Thoughts?

Ok. KSTP it is.

Did not even think of pre heat. Yeah need that or plugin 🔌

@WiredForFlight I’m at MIC, it has fairly minimal facilities but you can go to thunderbird. STP has a great restaurant on the field.

@bkoehn yeah. I figured I needed something with electrical hookup this time of year. Changed mind again KFCM. It will be just a littler easier. Signature at KSTP had power but figured I would call KFCM and first call (Inflight Aviation) also had power. Thoughts?

Good to know about the restaurant.

@WiredForFlight Gotta use preheat in Minnesota. Inflight is good. My kid is an apprentice A&P at Thunderbird FCM and the people there are nice. We’re headed South (KHOT) in the morning. Let me know if we can help.
@WiredForFlight I’m based at KFCM (and will be out there today 10-1). Inflight and Thunderbird are both pretty good. I have more personal experience with T-Bird. Both on north side of the airport. The restaurant at KSTP(Holman’s Table) is very nice - not your typical airport restaurant.
