@heidilifeldman I am sure you can do better.
How about an actual General Strike, for example?
E.g. All of January, nobody works who isn't an enemy of democracy.
I thought this was great, then remembered that this is a democratically elected individual, so 'protesting' his inauguration is anti-democratic, no?
I can recall telling GOP family members who raged over Obama's election that democracy is hard, because as many as just-under half the people may be disappointed about the outcome, and I had had to live with all their shiity but winning picks in the past and now it was their turn.
Democracy is hard.
I hear you. In this case you are missing my point.
Inauguration of an elected individual is actually something we should Not protest. Because. We stand for nothing if we are refusing to accept the result of a legitimate election. We become Jan 6 protesters.
Have no fear, he will give us plenty to protest later.
@Edelruth @pg1958 @heidilifeldman There is a difference between insurrection and resistance.
Resistance is refusing to participate, to drag one's heels, to quietly muck up the works, to pick up one's toys and go home.
Resist.
...No impact.
There are lots of days that lots of us don't buy gas, shop, or travel. Nobody notices then, and nobody will notice on Jan 20.
Let him stand there alone, like last time…
@heidilifeldman
i sort of agree.
but i need to remind that many americans voted for kamala and democrats.
@heidilifeldman Well, if you want to strike, please, PLEASE, please, for all the pleases in the world, vote to get the trump loonies out on the ground level, instead of this ostrich behavior of armchair striking.
GET OFF YOUR ARSES AND VOTE DAMMIT.
@heidilifeldman
I understand what you are asking of them, but I have to wonder why.
Not tryin to be difficult here, but Bernie attending is one of the strongest demonstrations for the support of Democracy he could make. He would be re-committing himself to the idea of peaceful transfer of power...
IMNSHO the only way he could make it stronger is to attend and then turn his back on Chump while Chump is taking the oath of office.
