@Garwboy it’s presumptuous to think anyone needs to “cure” social anxiety. Perhaps people just suck and mostly should be avoided?

Thank you for this. The hardest thing I found about some of the social situations I've encountered is "The sea of backs". Tight knit groups standing in impenetrable huddles that really don't make it easy for an outsider to slide in.

When I was involved in Rotary visiting other Rotary clubs this was a problem unless there was a member delegated to introduce "strangers" to folk to be looked after.

Clubs that failed to understand this tended to fail to recruit and retain new members.
