The classic Reagan doctrine was drown the baby in the bathtub by cutting social spending.

You can turn that on its head and do the same thing to corporate profits!

1) Delete your Amazon account.
2) Delete your Ebay account.
3) Donโ€™t buy a Tesla. If you have one, sell if feasible. This will help collapse its market value.
4) Limit discretionary spending as much as possible.

@JoeChip

You're missing the other half of the equation entirely: the One Percent employs the same people who are also consumers of the goods and services that are produced by the corporations they own and control. So what if someone doesn't buy a Tesla? What other vehicle are they going to buy that isn't also produced by a corporation also owned by another billionaire? The One Percent exploits people coming and going, first by underpaying them and then by effectively getting a chunk of that same money back as corporate profit.

The only way to break the hold of the One Percent is to stop working for them.

@VulcanTourist @JoeChip I keep thinking about something Naomi Kline said in "No Logo" about how you can't escape Globalization. It's been 20 years or so since I read it but it boiled down to, "you do what you can anyway".

I cancelled my Prime account and won't buy from Amazon if I can avoid it. I also cancelled Spotify and moved to Deezer. Working on as many other things as I can when I can. I'm looking at Open Secrets before deciding who I'm giving my money to from now on.

Window-shop at Amazon and then go to the manufacturer's website to buy. Usually you can find the same price there, often with some coupons to sweeten the deal further.

I have saved hundreds of dollars that way.

@andytiedye @VulcanTourist @JoeChip it's the new Best Buy -> Amazon hustle ๐Ÿ˜‚ But dare we... Best Buy -> Amazon -> OEM?
