I hope that the Democratic Party in the United States learns something useful from the last election. It might be time to consider how the average voter now perceives the party and how to improve these perceptions.

Two Approaches to the Post-Election Autopsy | Medium

Democrats need to conduct a post-election autopsy that goes well beyond criticizing Harris. How do modern voters perceive the Democratic Party?

@vjack As far as self-examination goes, I don't think Democratic voters are ready to elect a woman. An unexciting Joe Biden had a record number of votes against Donald Trump. Hillary did only lose EC while winning the popular vote, but Kamala still wouldn't have been all that close if we gave her every third-party/write-in vote. I think there lives some implicit bias against women in leadership within too many Democratic voters. Israel/Gaza was probably also going to hurt the DNC no matter what.
@snoopfrog Yes, I wouldn't rule any of those factors out as contributors. At the same time, I keep hearing from people on the left that they are finding Democrats intolerant, condescending, and emphasizing the wrong things. That makes me curious about whether perceptions of the party need some improvement.
