Most Jews deported by the German Nazis to Auschwitz for extermination were promised resettlement & new life. They packed their suitcases with all the essential items. Hope was used as a weapon.

The suitcases we preserve and display at the Memorial are important documents as they carry the names of their owners.

@auschwitzmuseum will you be adding a bluesky account?
@kostuch @auschwitzmuseum They could also follow @bsky.brid.gy, then all their existing content would be mirrored over to Bluesky and they wouldn't need a second account.
@auschwitzmuseum I’ve seen this in person at the museum of tolerance in Los Angeles, California. It is soul crushing.
@auschwitzmuseum of the many absolutely appalling aspects of these events I find this „false hope“ part one of the most perfidious.

@auschwitzmuseum

Does the tragedy of the Holocaust justify Israel's genocide against Palestine?

Does Germany's shame allow them to silence any criticism of Israel's warcrimes in Gaza ?

Asking for 2.3 million Semitic People (the population of Palestine)

@auschwitzmuseum Ah, another post by the Holocaust Museum, another spate of comments accusing them (and possibly all Jews) of supporting ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians, when a) the museum is not Israeli and b) it explicitly doesn’t support that.

@auschwitzmuseum
Oh, right. Ethnic cleansing and genocide becomes bad or good depending on who it is done to.

I want to live in a world where it's always bad.

@tofugolem @auschwitzmuseum @tofugolem @auschwitzmuseum I haven’t seen anything from the Auschwitz Museum indicating they are in support of what is happening in Gaza, either explicitly or implicitly. They are dedicated to a particular event in history. To suggest that they support what’s happening in Gaza is disingenuous.
@auschwitzmuseum and also to make looting them of their belongings (after murdering them) easier.
