Most Jews deported by the German Nazis to Auschwitz for extermination were promised resettlement & new life. They packed their suitcases with all the essential items. Hope was used as a weapon.

The suitcases we preserve and display at the Memorial are important documents as they carry the names of their owners.

@tofugolem @auschwitzmuseum @tofugolem @auschwitzmuseum I haven’t seen anything from the Auschwitz Museum indicating they are in support of what is happening in Gaza, either explicitly or implicitly. They are dedicated to a particular event in history. To suggest that they support what’s happening in Gaza is disingenuous.
