Feels pretty unusual, too; Apple doesn’t do this sort of acquisition all that often.
Also wonder what the motivation is on Pixelmator Team’s side—were they no doing well financially?

i think the only way they don’t colossally fuck this up is if the pixelmator team joins the pro apps department. i have a high opinion of those folks, and their track record with logic and final cut is pretty great.
Metafrastis@viticci Aperture was the first and best RAW editor and killing it was one of the worst decisions by Apple. I hope this marks a new beginning.
