Devastating scenes of piled-up cars in #Valencia, #Spain today after yesterday’s historic flooding. A year’s worth of rain fell in a few hours with a peak of 500mm.

@zoom_earth but remember folks, its simply too expensive to take action against climate change...
@zoom_earth Day after day, on and on.
And still we do nothing.
As the years roll by watch capitalism find itself another source of income - climate change mitigation. Treating symptoms rather than cause. It's easier to sell people a mop and bucket rather than attempting to turn the tap off; people just love to buy stuff.
@zoom_earth
Nadie se imaginaba lo que venía..mucho ánimo a toda la gente de Valencia, sabemos que no es fácil.😔
@zoom_earth One way of getting ICE cars off the roads. If we won’t do it then nature will do it for us.
@zoom_earth “Spanish weather service AEMET reported that Chiva, in the Valencia region, recorded 491mm of rain in just eight hours on Tuesday - the equivalent to a year's worth of rain.” https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c93qlpp5gxvo
Spain floods: Dozens dead after torrential rain in Valencia region

Rescue workers are searching for missing people after Spain was hit by severe flooding.

@mighty_orbot @zoom_earth 19.3 inches over 8 hours!? I just went through a CAT4 hurricane a couple weeks ago and we had less than half that much rainfall and we're still dealing with flooding.

I can't even imagine 19 inches...

@zoom_earth
I hate it when climate protesters block roads, don’t you?
@zoom_earth Damn, that looks like a movie scene 😳
@zoom_earth I suppose the automotive manufacturers response to this kind of (more to come) event will be to create heavier cars so it cannot be moved by climate change induced floodings? 🙄
@zoom_earth far right managed government barely even acknowledged it before it was too late, as the emergency unit got dissolved back in 2022 without making up for it 👍

@zoom_earth

Unbelievable… :(

The destructive power of water should not be underestimated…

@zoom_earth

Just think, in the beautiful future, these would all be robotaxis, making people uncountable piles of money 🤷‍♂️

@zoom_earth This is heartbreaking 💔

@zoom_earth

Anlagentip: Mehr Aktien von Versicherungen kaufen. Die werden boomen.

(Ja, ist Sarkasmus, aber gleichzeitig auch ein realer Anlagentip, insbesonderer Rückversicherer)

This #Result shows, that the #People keep doing their #Businesses, without #regarding the nowadays very exact #Weatherforecast/s. No #Civil #Protection or #DisasterControl at all.

#Climatechange

@zoom_earth my god, piled together like toys

@zoom_earth There is no climate change impact at all, looks like it is all a hoax.

Devastating and terrible for everyone impacted. But we are not doing anything to slow down the path.

Stop diesen Verbrenner Wahnsinn.
@zoom_earth Such a beautiful city. This is sad and still climate change deniers.

@zoom_earth

Seems like a great argument for trashing those cars and adding some streetcars and trams instead

@zoom_earth whoooa. I lived 1 year in Valencia during my studies. Very sad to read about the floods 😞
@zoom_earth if this isn't apocalypse now, then I don't know what it is...  But meantime, more 💰💰💰💰💰 fly to finance #war in different parts of the world 😠
@zoom_earth so ban hydrocarbon burning and still drown without the benefit of air conditioning or a boat.
@zoom_earth These environmental catastrophes are becoming, and will continue to become, more and more frequent. But is anything going to be done about it? Honestly I'm not hopeful - the alarm bells have been sounding for DECADES and yet here we are still approaching the limit for what scientists have defined as the point of no return. Actually doing something to help, hurts the bottom line of CO2-producing industries so...here we are ☠️
