@Christo_459 I suspect that the ideology of white supremacy is a failure from the outset. Trying to hinge human worth on accidentals like pigmentation and fictions like race is a failure of imagination and intellect.
Incidentally, has anyone heard any updates on the civil case led by Paul Champ representing the citizens of #Ottawa against the #FreedomConvoy organizers?

Conservatives still don’t seem happy.

When Trump won —against all odds, scandals, lawsuits, collapsing bridges, and the overwhelming weight of his own chaotic existence—you’d think the celebration would’ve lasted longer.

But no, the reaction wasn’t joy. It was this weird, brittle gloating. 🧵

"ruder" sounds a bit stigmatising. How about "differently polite"? 🤪

Some teachers say kids are just plain ruder these days, with a sharp increase in interruptions and outbursts in the classroom. New research from Brock University backs up those observations.

We love the idea of the hard-working plucky person making a good profit and doing what they want with it. Why not?

But, that's not what we have created, it's not some system that rewards "hard work" or even meeting the needs of markets however perverse they might be.

The wealth is so extreme it can overwhelm all other human systems of control and power.

The courts can be bought.
The universities.
The churches.
The sports clubs.
The politicians.
Everything is for sale with no upper limit.

Why is taxing private jets considered to be "ideological" when we know private jets emit multiples more carbon dioxide per passenger than commercial flights and that their use is growing at an alarming rate.

The policy is based on hard evidence and should be in every party's policy if they are serious about tackling climate change.

Private jet carbon emissions soar 46%: Study

The carbon footprint from private jet travel grew 46 percent between 2019 and 2023 and will keep rising unless the ultra-luxury industry is regulated, according to new research published Thursday.

A technical deep-dive, since people have been asking me for my thoughts. I'll expand a bit on some of the key points here in a thread. 🧵
