Harris has yet to outline her plan for climate change. Here's what the #DemocraticPartyPlatform says.

Includes:
"The platform also promises to be tough on Big Oil, as the companies struggle to maintain their grip on the energy industry. Moving forward, the party says it will "eliminate tens of billions of dollars" in oil and gas #subsidies, fight price-gouging, and increase protections against drilling and mining in the #Arctic."

"Why is Harris largely sidestepping [climate change]?

According to several campaign aides, this ambiguity is not a sign of dismissal or inexperience — it’s a calculated strategy. A recent study on campaign rhetoric, taking foreign policy as its example, suggests candidates turn to ambiguity when campaigning on complex and divisive issues."

Is being vague a virtue? Why Kamala Harris is keeping her climate cards close

In Kamala Harris’s recent appearances, environmental issues have been mentioned only briefly and she seems to be avoiding diving into specifics. The ambiguity is more than likely intentional.

@CelloMomOnCars so he "disagree" with Kamala and Joe on genocide. Cool, good for him. But he will still support it and vote in favour of genocide? O...k... Sorry, but I can't take Bernie seriously anymore. The mental gymnastics liberals will do to support genocide is crazy.
@hejsimon Congratulations on completely missing the point.
@BeerMetalPC he supports a candidate that does genocide. Actual horrific genocide. That's despicable. Enough said.

@hejsimon @BeerMetalPC

I think Bernie's point is that the other candidate would be much , much worse.

@hejsimon @CelloMomOnCars which means you will not vote at all? I mean there’s no way a sane person can vote for Trump, right?
@hejsimon @CelloMomOnCars Congratulations on your Trumpie wit.

@CelloMomOnCars Bernie perfectly demonstrates Realpolitiks in action. In an ideal world, everyone should be able to follow, demonstrate, and stand by their principles in everything. And then there's reality.

Biden/Harris stance on Gaza is deplorable; its still better than Trump's and at least there's a chance of using leverage in the house, senate to influence. No so with Trump.

Voting Stein, or refusing your ballot out of protest for Gaza accomplishes less than nothing here.

@CelloMomOnCars
Please - Anyone who doesn't want to vote for #KamalaHarris because of Gaza - listen to Bernie Sanders' plea. He says it better than anyone else. This is SO important!! Don't waste your vote!!!
@CelloMomOnCars somerwhere on this platform I read the wise words that you don't vote for your ally, you vote for the difficulty degree that you'll have to fight for change in the future

@JohannaMakesGames

Yes!
I've also heard that this vote is not your last move, it's one move in an on-going long chess game.

@CelloMomOnCars @JohannaMakesGames A key issue in this year's vote is whether it will be possible (or at least meaningful) to vote ever again in the US.

@CelloMomOnCars

Perhaps the best reasoning ever why leftists should vote strategically for the centrist democrats.

@CelloMomOnCars Folks, if you know folks who will listen to Bernie and need to hear this, please share with them! 👆
@CelloMomOnCars I like the analogy I've heard with public transportation. A bus usually doesn't take you exactly where you want to go. You have to expect to walk some and you don't get on a bus going in the opposite direction of your destination or a broken down bus up on blocks. You get on the bus that gets you closest to your destination and campaign for better routes in the future.
@CelloMomOnCars What an idiot. So he prefers to sacrifice democracy?
