Hi πŸ™‚ I'm looking for a #computer #tool ...
in two words that allows you to make a direct link to an #email to put it in a #todo #app or a #calendar

An example, #todoist with #gmail.

I'm looking to have an #inbox_zero workflow and this is one of the tips I see that makes so much sense!!

And of course I'm looking for an #open_source tool .... If anyone knows how to do that πŸ€—πŸ«΅πŸ€“

#boost

@lascapi Bit of a learning curve, but if you do your email in #emacs, you can use Org Mode to make tasks and notes that are automatically linked to email messages, files you're looking at, etc. :)

Hi @sacha
I didn't know that it was possible to do that with emacs (because I don't use it...πŸ˜…) and I'm not surprised at all! πŸ€“

The thing is that I work mainly with my android smartphone ... I know orglzy that I use a bit, but I don't think that's possible to link email with. :/

By the way, thank you for your message where you talked about the PARA method :)

@lascapi this is not entirely impossible (... but not really convenient) in @Vivaldi. I have asked to be able to link to specific emails there

https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/57784/allow-linking-to-specific-emails-e-g-m3-db-item

Workaround: have the bookmarks bar enabled in #Vivaldi, then when viewing an email as its own tab, bookmark it. Then you can fetch that url, and it will be formatted something like vivaldi://mail/message/39698/ ... however I doubt that workaround is what you are looking for πŸ™‚

Allow linking to specific emails (e.g. m3://<db-item>)

A feature I appreciate about Lotus Notes and actually use (yes, that Lotus Notes) is that you can link to any database item, in particular also emails. Possi...

Hi @WildEnte
I looking for something like that, yes.
But cross app. πŸ™ƒ

That probably doesn't exist !! πŸ₯²

@lascapi sounds like the perfect job for https://n8n.io (full disclosure: I work there)
n8n.io - a powerful workflow automation tool

n8n is a free and source-available workflow automation tool

@BartV Hi :)
But then you need to use an external service.

Maybe it's not obvious, but I'm looking for a local and offline tool! ☺️😬

@lascapi You can self-host n8n locally πŸ˜‡
@BartV hoho ! I should look more deeply if I can use it for what I want !
@lascapi have fun! It’s just a docker image, so very easy to set up.
