@MostlyHarmless this is straight from a tumblr post but the economy there is great thanks to the joker being there. There's also a lower risk than other places. He definitely gets paid enough.

@MostlyHarmless Batman wouldn't be necessary is men like Bruce Wayne didn't exist. Billionaires only exist by exploiting the population. Tax the billionaires, give proper funding to Archam Asylum and social services, Defund the Gotham police... Suddenly the villainous characters stop rising out of the disparity
