I don't wanna be a dick but I gotta ask: How the fuck is basic #UX still like this?

Somebody clearly spent a lot of time making this app look amazing - but when there's literally a keyboard ON SCREEN & the MIDI keyboard (from the same manufacturer, I might add) is plugged in & recognized, how am I the asshole for expecting to be able to play the fucking thing!?

Same in this other screen: There's a waveform ON SCREEN but hitting the only available "Play" doesn't play it!? 🤬

#music #MPCBeats

To be clear, I'm frustrated to anger because this is so fucking cool: You can literally run MPC Beats *inside #Garageband* as an AU plugin, massively expanding what you can already to with GB 🤯 but the side-by-side experience in user friendliness is nothing if not massively jarring...

Also, "It's for pros" is no excuse. So is the Affinity suite & DaVinci Resolve - just because an app is powerful it doesn't mean it has to be impossible to use without a manual open on the table. #ux #tech

- and then one loads up a beginner tutorial, as one does, & literally THE FIRST THING THE GUY SAYS TO DO doesn't correspond with what I'm seeing in my view of the app 🤬 Look, I'm forging ahead but A. "exasperation" doesn't BEGIN to cover it & B. my neighbor shouldn't have to put up with this much shouting & cursing...

OK, turns out there's a literal crapton of other stuff you also have to install, besides the app itself - which, fair enough, doesn't auto-install, but jeez fucking louise, PROMPT THE USER to load highly valuable slash necessary content, you guys; how the fuck are they supposed to know!? Hell, the files aren't even named "install" or anything... 🤯

Also, not even the the official "getting started" tutorials, or even the manual, mentions this with as much as an oblique reference 🫥
